68 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Louth is not entitled to added years for superannuation purposes; and if he will make a statement on the matter giving the reason for this decision.
The person concerned is not entitled under the relevant scheme rules to added years for superannuation purposes having regard to the extent of his reckonable service prior to his appointment to his present post. My Department informed his employing local authority of the position in April 1991 and confirmed it again, on request, in September 1993.
