Question:

106 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the distribution of average farm income by quintile in each year since 1986.

Teagasc provides estimates of average family income i.e. excluding farmers' income from non-farming activities, on an annual basis in its National Farm Survey. On the basis of the survey, the distribution of family farm income by quintile in the period 1986-92 is as follows:
