Vol. 440 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

104 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will be paid cattle headage and 22 month beef premium for 1993.

The person named was paid his 1993 cattle headage grant on 3 March 1994.

He was paid 60 per cent advances of his 1993 suckler cow premium on 30 November 1993 and of January-February 1993 special beef premium on 8 February 1994. A 60 per cent advance of his June 1993 special beef premium will be paid shortly. Payment of the balances cannot be made to a particular applicant until all applications received from him/her in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density. The processing of November 1993 applications means that in most cases payment of the final 40 per cent of premium will not start before late March.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

105 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason suckler cow grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

My Department is unable to trace any 1993 suckler cow premium scheme application from the person named.
