Vol. 440 No. 2

Written Answers. - St. Patrick's Day Celebrations.

Liz McManus

Question:

111 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform if he will be representing the Government at the St. Patrick's Day parade in New York; if so, the representations, if any, he has made to the organisers of the parade regarding the policy of excluding gay and lesbian people from participating; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not taking part in the St. Patrick's Day parade in New York. However, I am making a private visit to the United States around that time and I have been requested to represent the Government at the St. Patrick's Day parade in Chicago. I have acceded to that request.
