Question:50 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Justice the total cost of ministerial trips from her Department's Vote in conjunction with St. Patrick's Day celebrations throughout the world.

In conjunction with the St. Patrick's Day celebrations, I travelled to Florida, Texas and Louisiana. I took the opportunity during my visit to meet with business and official representatives mostly in relation to Justice-related matters, primarily in the prisons and custodial areas, and to visit a number of penal institutions. Since I returned only four days ago, the final details of travel costs incurred are not yet available. I will arrange for them to be furnished to the Deputy in due course.
The Minister of State at my Department did not attend any St. Patrick's Day functions abroad.
