Question:51 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice when she intends to introduce the promised legislation to ban the parking of heavy goods vehicles in residential areas.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Commissioner is in the process of making draft temporary rules in the matter. In addition, the question of alternative parking for the vehicles in question is also being examined in consultation with Dublin Corporation. At this stage, it is not possible to say when the matter will be finalised.
