Vol. 440 No. 5

Written Answers. - Cattle Movement.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

73 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if the cattle from the herd at Grianán Estate, Spinogue, Lifford, County Donegal, that were kept some days at the pound in County Cavan, and that are now on a farm near Ballyboughal, north County Dublin, have been tested for TB; if not, if they will be tested; and, if so, the herd number under which they will be tested.

Provided that animals are moved in compliance with the relevant animal health regulations, their movement is a private matter. Similarly the testing of herds is a private matter. It is not the practice to disclose details in regard to the testing of individual herds. However, the normal procedure in the type of case referred to is that the status and testing requirement extends to the new location.
