Vol. 440 No. 5

Written Answers. - Television Licence Purchase.

Richard Bruton

Question:

89 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the plans, if any, he has to amend legislation so that persons disposing of their property for one reason or another can purchase a television licence for part or portion of the year.

I have no such plans. In any event I would expect that the vast bulk of occurrences of this nature would involve persons moving from one address to another in the State. In these circumstances the licence is transferable from the old address to the new without any additional cost.
