111 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health if he has received representations from a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow requesting that he intervene in order that she can gain access to her medical file which is at the moment in the charge of the Eastern Health Board psychiatrist in her area; and if he will ensure that she is able to gain access to this file.

Access by patients or former patients to their medical files is a matter for clinical decision. It would not be appropriate for me therefore to intervene in this case. I understand however that the person concerned has received a summary of her medical case notes.
