Vol. 440 No. 8

Written Answers. - Monkstown (Cork) Slipway.

Bernard Allen

Question:

86 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education if she will allocate a grant of £32,000 to the Monkstown Bay Sailing Club, Monkstown, County Cork, towards the construction of a new slipway, the total capital cost of which is £39,400 and which will cater for disabled persons taking part in the sport of sailing; and if she will make a statement on the matter having particular regard to the fact that the new slipway will, in due course, be handed over to Cork Corporation as a public amenity.

An application has been received from the Monkstown Bay Sailing Club, Monkstown, County Cork under my Department's Recreational Facilities Scheme. All applications received under the scheme, which was recently advertised, are at present under consideration by my Department and a decision in the matter will be conveyed to the organisation as soon as possible.
