88 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the extra funding available for provision of materials, supervision and administration of the new social employment scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The funding arrangements for materials and supervision which apply under the existing social employment scheme will continue to apply to community employment projects pending the introduction, on a phased basis, of development modules for participants. Such modules will be phased in as early as is practicable.
Funding for projects which have a development module for participants will comprise of a grant for materials and supervision on a per capita basis, up to a maximum of £30 per participant per week, to cover their supervision and training. I expect that the costs of administering community employment projects will be broadly in line with the cost of administering existing social employment scheme projects.
