Question:

204 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education the number of inspectors of second level schools for each subject employed by her Department.

My Department's inspectors of second level school are allocated to subject areas as follows: Science, including physics, chemistry, biology, agricultural science, six inspectors; Technical Studies, including building construction, technical drawing, engineering, 11 inspectors; Irish 5.5 inspectors*; English, seven inspectors; Social Studies, including history and geography, five inspectors; Modern Languages, 5.5 inspectors*, Business Studies, five inspectors*, Mathematics, two inspectors; Home Economics, three inspectors; Physical Education, five inspectors; Art, two inspectors; Music, one inspector; and Classical Studies, one inspector.

*One inspector shared between Irish and French.
