Vol. 442 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Robert Molloy

Question:

48 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of beef premium for June 1993 and June 1994 to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon; when payment will be issued in respect of same; and when the remainder of headage and suckler cow grants will be paid to this person.

Advance payments on foot of 1993 cattle headage, suckler cow and special beef premium, January-February, applications were made to the person named in late 1993 and early 1994. Those applications, along with those for his June 1993 special beef premium, are being processed further at present and any balances or full payments due will be paid shortly. The delay in making the payments is due to an error in inputting details of acreage from his area aid applications. Application forms for the June 1994 special beef premium scheme will be available later this month.

John Ellis

Question:

49 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will pay installation aid to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

I expect that payment will be made within the next two weeks.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

50 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will be paid a farm development grant in view of information six weeks ago that this grant would be paid around this time; the reason the moneys to pay such grants are not available at this time; and when it will be made available.

All claims under the farm improvement programme are processed strictly in order of receipt. I expect that the grant in question will be paid within the next two weeks.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

51 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a cattle subsidy for 1993 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person named applied for grants under the 1993 cattle and equines headage, suckler cow and special beef premium schemes but as he is not the registered herdowner of the herdnumber quoted grants cannot be paid to him at present.

If he wishes to become registered as herdowner, he should contact the local veterinary office of my Department in Raphoe. If and when he becomes registered as herdowner the payment of grants will then be considered.
