Question:

58 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the total cost at present of imported energy in the form of coal, oil, gas and other fuels.

The total cost of imported fuels in 1992, the most recent year for which complete information is available, was IR£645 million. This was made up of IR£509 million for oil and IR£136 million for coal.
