80 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Marine whether he supports the principle of the Baltimore harbour development plan; his views on whether Exchequer and European Union funding should be made available therefor; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Baltimore and Skibbereen Harbour Commissioners have submitted a development proposal to the Department of the Marine for consideration in the context of the finalisation of a development programme for the years 1994-1999. It did not prove possible due to financial constraints to include development at Baltimore Harbour in the 1994 programme. However, the harbour will be considered for inclusion in future years, subject to available financing.
