Question:

146 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education the number of primary and second level schools in each county which are designated as disadvantaged.

The information sought by the Deputy is given in the table below. An additional 50 primary schools are being included in the disadvantaged areas scheme for funding purposes with effect from September next. An additional 60 teaching posts are being allocated in 1994 to alleviate disadvantage at second level.
