Vol. 443 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ballyleague (Roscommon) Moorings.

John Connor

Question:

27 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Office of Public Works have yet to provide additional mooring spaces to complete the major amenity project on the Shannon waterway/navigation at Ballyleague, County Roscommon; if funding is to be provided in 1994 for this project which is needed to relieve congestion of tie-up places on the Shannon navigation at this important stopping point; and when in 1994 the work will commence.

The Office of Public Works has completed the site investigation which is the first stage in the design process for the provision of additional mooring facilities at Ballyleague.

The detailed design work for the project will be undertaken in 1994 but funds will not be available to allow construction work to be commenced until 1995.
