Question:240 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding the provision of a new classroom, not a prefabricated structure, in respect of a national school (details supplied) in County Cork.
Written Answers. - Grant Aid.
My Department is prepared to make grant-aid available towards the provision of a prefabricated structure at the school referred to by the Deputy.
However, it is open to the school management, if it so wishes, to offset this grant against the cost of a permanent classroom, with the additional cost being a local liability. I understand that proposals are at present being drawn up by the school management for a permanent classroom.
