82 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he has agreed to give Team Aer Lingus work permits for 300 Filipino workers; and the way in which he can justify this against the normal criteria of the work permit scheme.
Applications for work permits are considered in accordance with the Aliens Act, 1935, the Aliens Orders, 1946 and 1975 and the European Community (Aliens) Regulations, 1972-85.
I have not received any work permit applications from Team Aer Lingus in respect of the employment of Filipino workers. I can assure the Deputy that any work permit applications made by Team Aer Lingus will be considered in line with work permit policy.
