Vol. 444 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Finucane

Question:

42 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when beef premium for 40 animals and headage, suckler cow and extensification grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The person named has already been paid the full amounts due to him under the 1993 cattle headage and suckler cow schemes. He has also been paid the amount due to him under the 1993 extensification premium scheme. My Department has no record of having received an application from him under the 1993 special beef premium schemes.

Question:

43 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The application of the person named for grants under the November 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and payment will be made shortly.

He did not apply for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the January-February and June 1993 application periods.

Question:

44 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in payment of the 1992 22 month special beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

Question:

45 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick for 12 animals under the 1993 special beef premium scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 44 and 45 together.

The person named has already been paid his grants under the December 1992 special beef premium scheme. His application for grants under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme was rejected at a computer validation check because of inconsistent ages. The problem has now been resolved following clarification from the herdowner and payment will be made shortly.

His November 1993 special beef premium application is being processed at present and payment will be made in the near future.

John Ellis

Question:

46 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will not be allowed into the scheme for small milk producers.

It is assumed that the Deputy is referring to the special scheme which was operated in 1993-94 for the allocation of some 5 million gallons of additional milk quota to small scale milk producers. The person named did not meet the eligibility criteria for the scheme.

Question:

47 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when outstanding beef premium grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The person named applied for the ten month instalment of the special beef premium on two animals and the 22 month instalment of premium on one animal in June 1993. He was paid the full ten month premium of £52.73 on 16 June 1994 on one animal only as the second animal had already qualified for premium. He was ineligible for payment on the one animal applied on under the 22 month scheme as he sold the animal before expiry of the retention period.
