Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ring — the need for immediate approval of an independent and autonomous regional technical college in Mayo; (2) Deputy Durkan — the reply to Parliamentary Question 100 of 14 June 1994; (3) Deputy De Rossa — the escalated crisis in TEAM Aer Lingus following the laying off of 800 workers yesterday and the urgent need for Government intervention to try to secure a solution to the current difficulties especially in view of the danger of the dispute spreading to Aer Lingus; (4) Deputy Broughan — the urgent necessity to provide funding for the refurbishment of Kilbarrack Dart Station, Dublin 13; (5) Deputy Ó Cuív — an gá atá ann go dtabharfar deontas méadaithe reáchtála do na comharchumainn Ghaeltachta le cuidiú leo obair fhorbartha atá ar bun acu a dhéanamh go sásúil; (6) Deputy Crowley — the possibility of holding forthcoming elections on a Sunday in view of the fact that eight out of 12 EU countries vote on a Sunday and (7) Deputy Allen — the temporary selling of English newspapers at discount rates to gain extra circulation and the damage this is causing to the Irish newspaper industry.

The matters raised by Deputies Allen, De Rossa, Ó Cuív and Ring have been selected for discussion.
