Question:

102 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total area of land taken out of production in 1994 under the EU set-aside rules in each county and nationally.

Preliminary figures available from this year's arable area aid applications indicate that a total of 34,907 hectares has been set-aside. The areas by county are as follows:—
