Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas Scheme.
I have formally submitted to the EU Commission the recommendations of the disadvantaged areas appeals panel which were based on its analysis of areas seeking reclassification to more severely handicapped status. It is not possible to say how long it will take the Commission, which is, of course, also considering our earlier submission on the extension of the disadvantaged areas, to complete its examination of the proposals.
