Question:382 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform when legislation will be introduced to allow for the full implementation in Ireland of the EC Maternity Directive. [409/94]
Written Answers. - EU Maternity Directive.
My Department has responsibility for the implementation of the maternity leave and employment rights elements of the EU directive. The Government is in the process of approving a Bill on this matter. I expect that the Bill will be introduced in the next week or so to facilitate full implementation of the directive as soon as possible.
