Question:

204 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total amount of money paid to sheep farmers since 1 January 1994, under headage and premia schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1563/94]

Since 1 January 1994, over £118 million has been paid out to sheep farmers under EU ewe premium and sheep headage schemes. On top of this 1994 sheep headage payments estimated at £18 million are expected to commence by the end of this month.
