Vol. 446 No. 1

Written Answers. - Third Level Admissions.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

132 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if she will publish and, if so, when she will publish the analysis of third-level admissions drawn up for the Committee on the Future of Third Level Education which shows huge disparities between certain parts of the State and between certain Dublin postal districts in terms of access to third-level education. [1679/94]

A number of technical working papers, including analyses in relation to third-level admissions, have been prepared by a technical working group which is assisting the steering committee on third-level education.

I have not yet received any reports or recommendations from the steering committee. The committee is however due to submit an interim report to me by November. When I receive that report I shall consider all aspects of it including the question of publication.
