Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Boylan — the problems being encountered by local authorities in providing matching funding for International fund for Ireland projects in the Border region; (2) Deputy Foley — the current position of the Shannon Estuary with particular reference to the task force report and the future benefits which may accure for north Kerry; (3) Deputy Shatter — the need for ministerial action to ensure that children are not sexually abused when in care particularly in view of reports over the last 24 hours that more than 100 children were abused in Madonna House; (4) Deputy Enda Kenny — the serious decline in fish catches on Lough Mask and Lough Carra, County Mayo, and the proposals to deal with the problem; (5) Deputy Durkan — the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 96 of 19 October to the Minister for Social Welfare.

The matters raised by Deputies Foley, Durkan, Boylan and Shatter have been selected for discussion.
