Vol. 446 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Aid.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

67 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if there are any supports or grants available for the packaging and promotion for sale of free range eggs in Northern Ireland, particularly in relation to the case of a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan. [1733/94]

There are no supports or grants available from my Department or any State agency to Irish egg packers specifically aimed at the Northern Ireland market for free range eggs.

My Department operates a general scheme of grant aid, involving FEOGA support, for investment in egg packing equipment. The conditions of this scheme are being reviewed at present. When this review is completed the revised conditions will be sent to the person in question.
