Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - Operational Programme for Tourism.

Phil Hogan

Question:

251 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the reason the Operational Programme for Tourism, 1994-99, has not been circulated to Members of the Oireachtas. [2102/94]

Considerable efforts have been made to circulate details of the Operational Programme for Tourism, 1994-99 to all Members of the Oireachtas. Firstly, immediately after the launch of the programme, I issued a circular letter to all Members of both Houses, enclosing a copy of Tourism 2000, the summary guide of the programme. In that letter, I indicated that the full text of the programme was available on request.

Copies of the programme were also laid before each House and lodged in the Dáil Library. Furthermore, each Member of the House was invited to attend one of four regional seminars, which I undertook in recent weeks to advertise the programme. Copies of the programme were made available to all participants at these seminars.

If, notwithstanding these arrangements, there is any Member who has not yet received details of the programme, copies continue to be available from my Office, on request.
