Vol. 446 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Cork Schools' Fencing.

Bernard Allen

Question:

285 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education when she will sanction a grant for palisade fencing at Scoil Oilibhéir in view of the fact that her technical adviser visited the school in June 1994, and the school has heard nothing since and in view of the fact that there are 900 pupils in the school with an open-planned layout and a neighbouring school, St. Aidans, is currently erecting palisade fencing. [2314/94]

Máirín Quill

Question:

290 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the provision of palisade fencing at a school (details supplied) in County Cork; and if the application will be expedited. [1864/94]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 285 and 290 together.

My Department received an application for grant-aid towards the provision of palisade fencing at the school referred to by the Deputies.

My Department's technical advisers were asked for a report on the matter. I understand that this report is completed. When the report is considered a decision on grant-aid will be conveyed to the school management.
