Vol. 446 No. 5

Written Answers. - Western Health Board Industrial Dispute.

Enda Kenny

Question:

134 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Health if recent industrial action taken by the directors of community care in the Western Health Board has been resolved; if all outstanding queries regarding tax rebates on adapted cars and other matters have been dealt with; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2432/94]

I am pleased to say that the public health doctors who took the industrial action have resumed normal working patterns in all the health board areas.

I have been assured by all the health boards that priority is being given to dealing with backlogs caused by the dispute including verification of medical certificates under the Disabled Drivers (Tax Concessions) Regulations, 1989. The Western Health Board has already cleared the cases in its area.
