Question:

328 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the number of part-time, temporary whole-time and permanent whole-time home economics teachers who were appointed in counties Mayo, Galway and Roscommon in the years 1988, 1989 and 1990. [3027/94]

The following table sets out the number of part-time, temporary whole-time and permanent whole-time Home Economics teachers appointed by the Vocational Education Committees in Galway and Mayo in the relevant years. No such appointments were made by County Roscommon Vocational Education Committee during those years.

The information in respect of secondary, community and comprehensive schools is not readily available. However, the information is being compiled and my Department will forward it to the Deputy as soon as possible.
