Question:

20 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of farmers paid in each county; the amounts paid to them; and the number of animals in respect of which payment was made in respect of cattle headage in severely handicapped areas, beef cow in less severely handicapped areas, sheep headage, ewe premium, ten months special beef premium, 20 months special beef premium, suckler cow premium, deseasonalisation premium, horse headage and goat headage schemes for which farmers applied in the year 1993. In the time available it has not proved possible to compile the statistics requested.

I am arranging for the compilation of these statistics, and shall forward them to the Deputy within ten days.
