Vol. 448 No. 1

Written Answers. - Section 4 Motions.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

83 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for the Environment the number of motions under section 4 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955, with specific reference to developments in areas of high amenity, directing the manager to overturn decisions of the county council planners which were passed in each of the coastal counties of the country for each of the last three years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1670/95]

The annual planning statistics compiled by my Department on the basis of returns from local authorities give information on motions under section 4 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 but do not classify motions in the manner requested by the Deputy. "Planning Statistics 1992" is the most recently available and copies are available in the Oireachtas Library. The 1993 statistics will be published shortly.
