Vol. 448 No. 2

Written Answers. - Templeogue (Dublin) School.

Mary Harney

Question:

97 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education when she will provide the physical education hall at St. MacDara's Community College, Templeogue, Dublin 6W in view of the fact that her Department is already in receipt of the necessary drawings; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1727/95]

Due to demands on the capital resources available, priority has been given for some time to the provision of essential teaching places. As a result it is not possible in present circumstances to grant aid the provision of physical education halls at existing schools which are without such facilities.

Provision of PE facilities in such schools will resume as soon as pressure on available resources for classroom accommodation has eased.
