Vol. 448 No. 3

Written Answers. - Education Grant.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

129 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Education the reason for the non-payment of a grant to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 14 who is in the third and final year of a course in view of a decision of her Department to review this person's case and no longer pay a higher education grant; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1831/95]

Under the terms of the higher education grants scheme students in receipt of higher education grants who participate in a student exchange under the Erasmus programme may have their grants continued while attending universities in other EU Member States.

Information obtained from the Higher Education Authority has confirmed that the student in question is not participating on the Erasmus programme and therefore is not eligible for grant-aid in respect of her studies in Germany.
