Vol. 448 No. 3

Written Answers. - Industrial Site Development.

Seamus Kirk

Question:

174 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the person, organisation or agency with whom responsibility for industrial site development now rests; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1865/95]

As the Deputy will be aware, the Industrial Development Act, 1993, provided for the establishment of three new bodies: Forfás, Forbairt and IDA Ireland. These bodies took over the functions formerly exercised by the Industrial Development Authority — IDA — and Eolas. The industrial land and buildings function, which includes the acquisition of land and its subsequent development for industrial purposes, is now the responsibility of Forfás.
