The Government in its programme for government —A Government of Renewal— gives a commitment to complete the steps necessary to ensure that the family courts are strengthened.
The Law Reform Commission published a consultation paper on this matter last March and hopes to publish its final report on the matter this year. When the commission's final report is published it will require careful consideration prior to formulating proposals for its implementation in conjunction with the commitment in the Programme for Government.
