McDowell asked the Minister for Justice the reasons a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 has not been granted Irish citizenship in view of the fact that this person has been a resident for the past eight years, has fully supported himself without ever having to rely on State assistance, has applied on a number of occasions for permanent residency and citizenship of this country and has repeatedly been told to try again in 12 months time and has never been advised of the extra requirements for citizenship he should comply with or on what grounds his applications have been rejected; if she intends to grant citizenship to this person; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
