Vol. 449 No. 3

Written Answers. - Provision of Hydrotherapy Pool.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

62 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Health whether he will honour a commitment given in April 1993, to provide a hydrotherapy pool for the Rheumatology Unit at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Centre, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6. [3559/95]

Limerick East): I am not aware that any commitment was given by my predecessor in relation to funding the hydrotherapy pool.

The proposal to fund the upgrading of the hydrotherapy facility at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Unit at a cost of £360,000 is under examination in my Department at present and will be considered in the light of the overall funds which become available for capital developments in 1995 and in the context of the many competing demands for health services nationally.
