73 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the withdrawal of Rathfarnham concert band society from their expressed interest in securing a long term lease for part of the old Loreto national school premises in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14; and her views on whether this withdrawal was forced on the society by the overturning of a previous decision which was in accordance with the wishes of the community, the Loreto Order and the local authority.[3545/95]

As already indicated in a recent reply to the Deputy, I intend to assign part of the Loreto school premises to Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council on a long term lease for sub-leasing to local and community groups. The sub-leasing arrangements will be a matter between the groups concerned and the council.
