Written Answers. - Golf Course Construction.
Under the EU-supported Operational Programme for Tourism, 1994-1999, a small amount of funds is being made available, on an exceptional basis, to assist the development of a limited number of new championship courses in remote areas where they could become the catalyst to encourage tourism development. Bord Fáilte and Shannon Development are the designated implementing agencies for assessing capital grant applications for golf course developments, and in these cases, decision-making authority in each agency's area is exercised by the management boards established to determine such applications.
