86 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for the Environment the assistance, if any, that will be given to owners of properties with thatched roofs in view of the unavailability of insurance and exorbitantly priced premia. [4908/95]

Grants, up to a maximum of £2,000, are available from my Department, subject to compliance with the conditions of the scheme, for the repair or renewal of the thatched roofs of dwellings.
