Vol. 450 No. 3

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Garda Station.

Robert Molloy

Question:

137 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Justice the present position regarding the future use of Clondalkin Garda Station, County Dublin. [5328/95]

Chris Flood

Question:

140 Mr. Flood asked the Minister for Justice the plans, if any, she has to replace the Clondalkin Garda Station, Dublin 22, with a purpose-built facility in view of the fact that the present station is in a poor condition, overcrowded, incapable of meeting the needs of the 60 gardaí located there and of the members of the public who have reason to visit the station; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5144/95]

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 137 and 140 together.

The existing Garda station at Clondalkin is inadequate for the number of gardaí and staff serving there. The Office of Public Works is currently examining the feasibility of reconstructing and extending the station to meet Garda needs.
