Question:

163 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Defence the voluntary bodies grant aided by his Department; the amount of grant aid allocated in each year since 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5227/95]

The Irish Red Cross Society and Coiste an Asgard are the only bodies under the aegis of the Department which are in receipt of grants-in-aid.

The amounts allocated to both bodies since 1993 are as follows:

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution receives an annual grant from my Department. The figures for the years in question are as follows:

The Deputy may wish to note that the 1993 grant contained a once off capital provision of £89,000 in respect of dredging works at Courtmacsherry, County Cork.
