143 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice, in relation to people released from prison in 1994, the proportion of the total who had served 10 per cent or less of their sentence, 10 to 30 per cent of their sentence, 30 to 60 per cent of their sentence, and more than 60 per cent of their sentence on release; and if she will make a statement on the matter. 144 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice the number of former prisoners who served less than 25 per cent of their sentences. [5584/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 143 and 144 together.

The information requested by the Deputy is not readily available and could not be obtained without the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of time.
