153 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if county enterprise boards are precluded from grant-aiding mobile equipment. [5346/95]
The current operational guidelines governing the county enterprise boards preclude direct grant assistance for the acquisition of items of mobile equipment such as cars and vans. This restriction is justified on the basis of the exceptional mobility and disposability of assets in this category.
However, boards may consider employment grants in lieu of capital grants, such grants being payable on the basis of new jobs created and not linked directly to expenditure on capital equipment.
