69 Mr. P. Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly) asked the Minister for Finance if he will provide a list of expired or surrendered licences, leases, indentures of lease and licence, freeholds sold and permissions granted to construct buildings by the Office of Public Works on the Health, County Laois, since 1922; the person or body to whom such licence, leases, indentures of lease and licence, freehold or permission to construct buildings was granted; and the term of years and the area covered by each licence, lease, indenture of lease and licence, freehold or permission to build. As indicated by my predecessor, Deputy Phil Hogan, in his written reply to the Deputy's question on 31 January 1995 (Question No. 59, columns 624, 625 and 626), the Health, County Laois, is owned by the Minister for Finance and has been managed on his behalf since 1943 by the Commissioners of Public Works. The Commissioners, accordingly, are not in a position to furnish comprehensive and accurate information regarding all expired or surrendered agreements affecting the Health property since 1922. The Commissioners' records indicate that the following fall into the categories outlined by the Deputy:—

A complete list of permissions granted on behalf of the Minister for the construction of buildings on the Health is not readily available and its preparation would entail a disproportionate amount of staff time.
