Question:

216 Mr. P. Gallagher (Donegal South West) asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the functions delegated to each Minister of State at his Department; and the date on which the functions were delegated in each case. [5821/95]

I have arranged that Minister of State, Deputy Emmet Stagg, will be responsible for: Irish National Petroleum Corporation and the development of Whitegate and Whiddy; petroleum affairs — offshore exploration; Bord Gáis Éireann and gas policy; energy conservation, renewable and alternative energy, Irish Energy Centre, energy and the environment; Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland and related issues, including policy on Sellafield; meteorological service; Irish Aviation Authority and air space management; road freight; bus transport competition policy and travel trade bonding and licensing system.

The order delegating these functions to the Minister of State is still in the process of being finalised.
