Vol. 451 No. 2

Written Answers. - Forestry Planting Application.

Michael Creed

Question:

124 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a decision will be made on an application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork for planting 50 acres of forestry. [6360/95]

An application for approval to establish a forestry plantation was received in my Department on 5 January 1995. Following an inspection the applicant was advised that a condition of approval was that all turbary rights be relinquished. Documentation in this respect was received on 21 March and the matter has been referred for legal advice. When this is received my Department will revert to the applicant.
